Broussard Capture 2009 Redfish Cup Championship

Only a few weeks earlier, Cajun Phil and son Captain Kevin Broussard who hail from Lake Charles, Louisiana, had won the coveted Redfish Cup 2009 Team of the Year award and $10,000 because the Broussards were the highest-ranking team overall for 2009 based on the entire season's cumulative results on the Redfish Cup trail.

As a result of finishing first overall for the season, the Broussards and the 20 other top teams for the season qualified to fish the Redfish Cup Championship held in Pensacola, Florida on September 25-27, 2009.

Crowned Redfish Cup Team of the Year

SEBILE saltwater fishing team, father and son Cajun Phil and Captain Kevin Broussard have earned the title of Team of the Year for 2009 on the ESPN Redfish Cup trail.

Now in its seventh season, the Redfish Cup has become the nation's premier saltwater fishing circuit. It's a series of tournaments on the highest level in the world for redfish, the saltwater equivalent of tournaments such as the Bassmaster Elite series for freshwater black bass in the United States.

Bassmaster Central Open by Huge Margin and Todd Faircloth Finishes Second on Rayburn

Please join us in congratulating SEBILE pro-staffer Stephen Johnston who took first place, earning $49,800 in the Bassmaster Central Open on Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Jasper, Texas on September 3-5, 2009.

Stephen's total weight for the three day event was 57 pounds 5 ounces. That's more than 10 pounds ahead of SEBILE pro Todd Faircloth who came in second with 47 pounds even. That's pretty amazing. You just don't hear of people winning high-level tournaments by over ten pounds these days.
